Seven-star multi-cotton resistant cotton with high disease resistance and insect resistance
For many years, I have been growing cotton on my farm, but the challenges have always been significant. The occurrence of diseases is quite serious, and premature aging is a common problem. In recent years, controlling cotton aphids has become increasingly difficult, making it hard to boost production further. In 2007, Ji Guangmin recommended a new variety called Agro-Canadian Cotton Variety – Seven Star Multi-Cotton Resistant Cotton. I decided to give it a try by planting 9 acres with an open mind.
After the cotton emerged, I didn't see any dead seedlings, and the growth was steady and strong. Compared to other varieties I had planted in previous years, this one showed much better resistance. In my total of 2,800 acres of cotton fields, pruning is simple, and we only need to spray once for flower bud control. During the first half of 2007, there was a severe drought followed by heavy flooding, but the Seven Star Multi-Cotton variety performed exceptionally well. The leaves turned dark green quickly, were full of fluffy fibers, and had a thick canopy. This saved me a lot of time and money, and I didn’t have to work non-stop managing pests.
Dwarf wilt was very rare during the growing season. If a few plants were affected, they could be easily treated with spraying and didn’t spread further. The dark green leaves were covered with plenty of white flowers, which made the whole field look beautiful and was very satisfying to harvest. After picking, the 9 acres yielded 6,777 pounds of raw cotton, averaging 753 pounds per mu, breaking my personal high-yield record. Additionally, the fiber quality reached 42% grade, which was also a record for me. I’ve never seen such high-quality cotton before.
The Seven Star Multi-Cotton Resistant Cotton is truly a time-saving, energy-efficient, disease-resistant, and high-yielding variety.
