Yak: It is pointed out that the calf from birth to June, this standard mainly refers to female calves.
1. After the mother-in-law is born, first create an individual file and make a record.
2. After the yak is born, the mother's colostrum should be fed as early as possible (within 2 hours) and the colostrum should be fed for 3 to 5 days. The temperature for feeding colostrum should be maintained at 35°C to 38°C. The first feeding amount is 1.5 to 2 kg. The amount of colostrum fed on a day is preferably 8% of the body weight of a calf and is fed 2 to 3 times. Drink warm water once every 1 to 3 hours after feeding colostrum.
3. The feeding method of colostrum can use special milk bottles. There is a cross opening on the pacifier to facilitate the yak to suck milk. It can also be fed by barrels. If yak refuses to suck milk, it can be fed by stomach tube.
4. After 3 to 5 days of colostrum, yak can be fed with regular milk. Regular breast milk is also preferred for breast milk. It can start from 10 to 15 days of age and gradually change from its breast milk to mixed milk or milk replacer. The amount of breast-feeding should gradually decrease with the increase of age until weaning.
5. Promote the breeding of calves in a single pen, which helps to improve the survival rate and daily feed, while adding roughage (adequate quality hay). The method of inducing calves to feed concentrates may be to sprinkle a little milk on the concentrate after feeding, or to feed the concentrate into boiled congee and add it to the milk, usually after 2 weeks.
7. The yak can be weaned after it lasts for about 3 months. During the first half of weaning, we must begin to gradually increase the amount of raw coarse feed and reduce the amount of milk fed. The number of feedings can be gradually reduced from two to three times a day, once, and then every other day. Promptly weaned milk can be fed at the time of weaning, and the water intake can be gradually increased by 1:1 until all milk is replaced by warm water. The amount of breastfeeding throughout the lactation is preferably 250-350 kg.
8. The calf's feed intake after three months of age is gradually increasing. Special attention should be paid to controlling the amount of concentrate feeding, and should not exceed 2 kg per head per day; it is better to feed high-quality green roughage as much as possible, which is beneficial to adult production. milk. The diet composition of calves from 3 to 6 months of age is as follows: 2 kg of yak, 1.4-2.1 kg of hay or 5-9 kg of silage, supplemented with mineral supplements.
9. If there are deputy nipples on the breasts, they should be cut off at 4 to 6 weeks of age, which is good for washing the breasts and preventing mastitis after adulthood.
10. The average daily gain of calves before June is 600-630 grams.
