Egg-feeding Techniques for Green Shell Layers

In order to ensure high yield and stable production of green shell hens in spring, the green shell hens should be kept in the best laying period. The egg production period should be reasonable in feed nutrition, careful in feeding and management, suitable in living environment, and strict in disease prevention and control.

Adjust feed

Green shell laying hens should be fed from the 150th day of age with feeds with similar nutrient concentrations during the peak period. The dietary nutrient level is 10.87 to 12.28 MJ/kg of metabolizable energy, and the crude protein content should be 15% to 16%. Calcium 2 %.

In the initial stage of laying eggs, the green shell laying hens that have just been produced are still in a further development stage, and the body weight continues to increase. Apart from gradually increasing the intake of feed and protein, this phase also has to gradually increase the proportion of minerals and vitamins in the feed. The specific requirement is that when the egg production rate reaches 50%, 10 grams of multivitamins should be added per 100 kg of feed and the mineral content should be 5%; when the egg production rate is 60%, the amount of multivitamins should be 12 kg/kg of feed. Grams, the amount of minerals accounted for 6%; when the egg production rate is 70%, the amount of multivitamins is 14 grams per kilogram of feed, and the amount of minerals used is 7%.

During the peak period of egg production (>30% egg production rate), the metabolism of dietary energy is 12.28 ~ 12.30 MJ/kg, crude protein is 16% ~ 17%, and calcium is increased to 3%.

During the middle and late stage of laying (the laying rate is <20%), in order to prevent chicken obesity, limited feeding should be carried out. The diet can be fed at 95% of the normal amount. During this period, the protein level can be reduced to 15% and calcium can be increased to 3.2%. To promote the absorption of calcium, vitamin AD3 powder is added to the feed in an amount of 0.1 to 0.2 kg of vitamin AD3 powder per 100 kg of feed.

40% to 50% of the total egg production of green shell laying hens is produced after the egg production peak. Therefore, at this stage, it is not possible to relax the feeding and management due to a gradual reduction in the egg production rate, and the protein ratio and feed intake in the diet should be appropriately adjusted. After 40 weeks of age, the green shell laying hens are mature and the energy in the ration cannot be too high, so as to prevent the green shell hens from being obese and affecting the laying of eggs. During this period, due to the decrease of the calcium metabolism ability of the green shell layers, the eggshell will gradually thin, and it should be noted that the feed should have 3% to 3.5% of calcium content.

Increase lighting

The green shell laying hens increase their light hours by half an hour from the age of 150 days until 16 hours and remain unchanged thereafter. The light period during the laying period should not be increased or shortened at will, and light should be turned on during the rainy weather. The light intensity should be 25 lux.

Temperature management

Maintain a relatively stable environment and reduce stress.

First, provide a suitable temperature environment for laying hens. The suitable temperature for laying hens is 20°C~25°C.

Second, increase the amount of ventilation, to prevent excessive emissions of harmful gases, affecting the growth of laying hens, laying eggs and health.

Third, gradually refueling, reduce the occurrence of human stress factors. Fourth, regular staffing, should follow the feeding and management procedures, so that light, stable and accurate.

Good health

Clean and disinfect chicken sheds and the environment on a regular basis, regularly eliminate rodents and flies, periodically replace the disinfectant in the disinfecting pool, adhere to the all-in and all-out system, adhere to chicken disinfection, strictly control the access of personnel and vehicles to the chicken shed, and properly handle Feces, dead chickens, sewage and garbage to prevent mildew and drinking water contamination.
