The purchase price of live pigs in Shenzhen has increased by more than 60% year-on-year, and pigs no longer lose money. However, with the increase in the purchase price of live pigs, the wholesale and retail prices of pork also rose. In February, the national pig price was 14.63 yuan per kilogram, and the local area in the north had exceeded 15 yuan per kilogram. In March, the pig price still rose, and in some regions it was nearly 20 yuan per kilogram.

In 2007-08, domestic inflation triggered a sharp rise in pork prices. This time, the country's inflation is still on the rise, and rising pig prices have brought tremendous pressure on inflation.
