Pit hatching Brazilian turtle seedlings

Xingning City has been using indigenous methods to incubate Brazilian turtles since 1996, but the hatching rate is extremely low. This year, when a professional turtle farmer incubates the Brazilian turtle, it simulates the structure of the Brazilian turtle's natural spawning nest and finds ways to incubate the Brazilian turtle in a tunnel style. This greatly increases the emergence rate. Now this test method is introduced as follows for reference by peers. :
The method of operation is 60 cm long, 20 cm wide and 8-10 cm deep. The bottom is covered with 5 cm of fine sand, and fine sand is placed around the edges to make it as solid as possible. Put 2-3 layers of Brazilian tortoise eggs on the fine sand. The eggs of the animals are facing upwards. The shape of the finished product is placed. The distance between the eggs is 1-2 cm. When laying turtle eggs, each turtle’s eggs are required to be visible to the naked eye so that bad eggs can be removed during routine inspections to prevent the rotten eggs from spreading to pathogens and affect the hatching rate. The height of the topmost turtle egg should be 2-3 cm from the side. The surface was covered with a plastic window gauze, and 300 turtle eggs were placed in one tunnel. Three tunnels were tested this year and a total of 900 Brazilian tortoise eggs were hatched. After 60-70 days of incubation, only 5 eggs were detected and 895 hatchlings were hatched. The hatching rate was 99.4 %.
Daily management
1. Check whether there are any ant mice in the hatchery.
2, check the humidity of the sand. Check once every 2-3 days. If it is too dry, sprinkle water with a spray bottle to keep the sand moist. Spray water should be kept clean, well water or cold water can be. Plastic screens covering tunnels should be ventilated and ventilated.
3, turtles after spawning need to continue feeding feed. Because the turtle has to lay eggs several times a year, it can produce four times a year. It begins each year before and after Ching Ming and ends in early July and early August. In the first year of the first year of spawning, the Brazilian turtle laid 6 eggs for the first time, 10 for the second time, and 12 for the third and fourth time. The first time the Brazilian spawning spawned eggs in the second year was 12 , The second, third and fourth time each produced 12; the third year of spawning of the Brazilian turtles, the first 14 spawning, the second and third production of 16 and the fourth production of 18. In the spawning grounds of Brazilian turtles, attention should be paid to observing the time of spawning. Eggs can be digged two days after spawning, and indoor hatching is performed. The author found that when the hatching eggs are hatched inside the sand in the room (that is, using the soil method), after 20 days, the egg size will expand by 1/3, and when the membrane is broken, it will be restored to its original shape. However, with tunnel-type hatching, this does not happen.
advantage
1, easy to check, remove bad eggs. This experiment was divided into three tunnels, and the number of bad eggs was 1, 2, and 2, which totaled five. In the design of pit hatching, the eggs of Brazil's turtles are stacked in the shape of a product. Therefore, eggs can be found at any time during the inspection. It was found that discolored, tarnished dead eggs should be removed immediately.
2. High hatching density can save space.
3, the same time of emergence. The same batch of eggs produced by the same batch can be uniformly emerged when they are growing. However, the egg hatching produced by the old-style hatching was inconsistent and uneven.
Summary and discussion
1. Pit hatching is worth promoting. With reference to the example of the successful hatching of the Brazilian turtle seedlings, pit hatching tests can be carried out to incubate other aquatic animals such as crocodiles, golden head turtles, four-eyed turtles, yellow-throated turtles, and Chinese turtles.
2. Pit incubation has a slightly longer incubation time than indoor temperature control. The temperature control method can hatch hatchlings for 50 days, and the tunnel type hatching can take 60-70 days for seedlings, but it can save electricity and other resources.
3. The breeding of Brazilian turtles is profitable. The hatched Brazilian tortoise seedlings can be sold for 5-6 yuan per 5 grams, and the Brazilian turtles are crude and easy to grow, have fewer diseases, spawn more, and can lay eggs four times a year. A mature female Brazilian turtle can produce 40 - 60 eggs, when the fertilization rate is 80%, can make a profit of 250-300 yuan. However, it takes 3-4 years to cultivate a female Brazilian tortoise to hatch. Brazilian turtle breeding can be over 1 kilogram a year for a year, and female Brazilian turtles can grow for more than 4 kilograms for three years. Males can grow 2-2.5 pounds. Breeding of Brazil turtle feed is easy to solve, and it can be used for meat, yellow mealworms, pig lungs, small fish, shrimp and squid materials, quail, and so on. The aquaculture area can be large or small, the equipment is simple, the survival rate of culture is high, and the market price of Brazilian turtles is 50 per kilogram. Yuan, which is a gateway to rural aquaculture, is worth promoting.
4. The fertility rate is low and remains to be explored. In this experiment, Brazilian tortoises produced more eggs, but the fertilization rate was only 70%. The fertilization rate of Chinese turtles was 99%. The fertilization rates of crocodile and goldhead turtles were all over 80%, so the fertilization rate of Brazilian tortoises was low. The issue remains to be explored and studied in the future.
