Turtles are popular with people for their nourishing, medicinal and ornamental effects. Recently, the leading amphibious reptile animal research institute in Haining City, Zhejiang Province, has developed two best feed formulations for feeding turtles, which are introduced as follows:
Formula One: fishmeal 38%, bean cake 12%, peanut cake 10%, rapeseed cake 5%, cornmeal noodles 10%, flour 2%, bone meal 3%, lysine 1%, multivitamin 1%. The formula has a crude protein content of 42%.
Formula II: 20% fishmeal, 15% soy flour, 10% silkworm meal, 15% peanut meal, 15% corn flour, 20% flour, 3% bone meal, 1% lysine, 1% multivitamin. The formula has a crude protein content of 35%.
