The amount of beef imported from the United States dropped by 10% year-on-year to only 7,375 tons. Imports of chilled beef rose by 7% to 3,722 tons, and frozen beef shipped by ship decreased by 23% to 3,653 tons. In October, although imports decreased, the CIF price of imported beef from the United States was 340 yen per kilogram, and the price was 18% lower than last year.
