Qingdao Nongda successfully developed a new breeder experiment planter

The National “948” chaired by Shang Shuqi, professor of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Qingdao Agricultural University, introduced the international advanced agricultural science and technology project “Introduction of comprehensive technology for flexible precision seed drills” and passed the inspection of the Ministry of Agriculture on December 29 last year. The core technological achievement of this project is “Development of the 2BY-6 Type Breeding Experiment Seeder”, and the overall technology has been identified to achieve the international advanced level of similar machines.

Different from ordinary field sowing, the important feature of breeding research is that it requires a large amount of field test data to evaluate, which involves the scientific design of each factor, level, and repetition. The experiment is very onerous. A breeding unit needs to conduct a large number of plot tests for different series, species, and conditions each year. The trial needs to be completed within the shortest time, and the plots must not be mixed. If using an ordinary planter, it must stop after each plot. Absorb the remaining seeds from the machine. These factors, together with the collection and processing of data, have greatly hampered the work efficiency of breeders.

In response to this problem, the research project introduced New Zealand Flexiseeder flexible and community planting technology, digested and absorbed innovatively developed the 2BY-6 type breeding experiment planter, which solved the problems of high seeding rate, uneven seeding and frequent planting in the breeding test area. Technical problems have raised key technologies such as breeding self-cleaning seeding technology, electric-driven electronically controlled variable-speed technology, and precise control.

The project team improved the flexible metering device of the seedling tester and reduced the seed damage rate. Symmetrical distribution of the rotor improves seed distribution uniformity and stability. The successfully developed electronically controlled transmission system can achieve precise adjustment of the speed of the seed metering device and the forward speed ratio of the unit according to the ground speed, simplifying the structure and adapting to the sowing operations of different lengths of the plot. The innovatively developed automatic seeding device has realized the requirements for timely and rapid seed changing and reduced the manual configuration. With the 2BY-6 type breeding pilot planter, a breeding scientist can plan and manage thousands of plots. Compared with manual operation or use of Daejeon machinery, the efficiency is greatly improved and it is easier to obtain ideal test results.
