1. If the burned area on the cylinder mat is small, you can use asbestos thread to fill in the damaged section. For larger burn marks, cut a piece of shimming from the same area of a used cylinder mat with matching thickness and gently tap it into place to ensure a tight fit. If the damage occurs between two cylinders, wrap the asbestos thread with copper sheeting for added durability and stability.

2. In case of a broken radiator hose, first cover the leak with a cloth soaked in soap to create a temporary seal, then secure it tightly with a wire. If the break is severe, cut the hose at the damaged area using a knife. Insert a bamboo tube or similar object between the two sections of the hose, then tie them together with iron wire before reusing. If there's a minor leak in the radiator core's copper tubes, apply soap to the affected area. For more serious leaks, use an orange light clip to seal the hole effectively and prevent further water loss.

3. If one valve spring breaks, you can temporarily install two intact springs and continue using the engine. However, if multiple breaks occur, especially in a multi-cylinder engine, remove the adjusting bolts of the intake and exhaust valves for that cylinder, close the valve, stop the cylinder from operating, and cut off fuel supply to prevent further damage.

4. In the event of a sudden power cut—such as when the horn stops working, the lights go out, and the starter fails to turn—it indicates a complete electrical failure. First, check if the battery terminals are loose. Avoid squeezing them during inspection. Use pliers to test the connection. If no spark is produced, the terminal is likely loose; tighten it with a wrench. If the issue persists after cleaning and tightening, inspect the wiring connections for poor contact and repair as needed. If a single battery cell is damaged, connect the good cells directly with copper wire to restore power temporarily.

5. If the clutch slips due to oil contamination on the friction plate, press the clutch pedal and spray gasoline into the gap between the flywheel, friction plate, and pressure plate using an oil gun. This will help dissolve the oil temporarily. If an oil gun isn't available, use a plastic or rubber tube to suck up the oil and direct it toward the affected area. If the friction plate is burned, carefully burn off the damaged part, but drive smoothly and change gears quickly to avoid further slippage.

6. In case of a broken leaf spring, place wooden blocks between the spring, axle, and frame, and secure them with iron wire. Drive slowly to the nearest repair location for a proper replacement.

7. When there are no jacks available to change a tire, use wooden blocks or bricks to lift the inner wheels. The outer wheels can be suspended and replaced easily. For front or single tires, place wooden blocks or bricks under the axle, dig around the tire to free it, and then remove and replace it. For flat-top vehicles, position a wooden block under the axle, then use the vehicle’s mechanism to lift the axle and replace the tire safely.

8. If the fan belt is damaged or broken, use several ropes to secure the belt. Ensure the rope is similar in length and thickness to the original fan belt, and make sure it’s not exposed. Tie it tightly with iron wire. Alternatively, if the original belt is broken at both ends, punch holes at each end and connect them with a thick wire. After repairs, run the engine for a few minutes to check that the fan rotates properly and without issues.
