Problems with fertilization in vegetable fields

1. Ammonium nitrate should not be used on green leafy Vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, mustard greens, chives, celery, and spinach. These crops have a short growth cycle and tend to absorb nitrate nitrogen quickly from fertilizers, leading to high levels of nitrates in the leaves. Excessive nitrate content can be harmful to human health, so it's best to avoid using ammonium nitrate on these types of vegetables.

2. Spraying pure nitrogen fertilizers like urea or ammonium sulfate directly onto the foliage of green leafy vegetables is not recommended. Similarly, using human urine as a fertilizer can significantly increase nitrate levels in the plants. This can pose serious health risks when consumed. It's better to apply nitrogen fertilizers through the soil rather than on the leaves.

3. Urea should not be immediately followed by irrigation. Urea needs time to convert into forms that plants can absorb, such as ammonium carbonate or ammonium bicarbonate. If watered right after application, the nitrogen may leach away with the water, resulting in nutrient loss. To prevent this, it's advisable to wait 5–7 days before watering after applying urea.

4. Avoid repeated applications of ammonium sulfate in acidic soils or calcareous fields. In acidic soils, excessive use can make the soil even more acidic, while in calcareous soils, it can lead to compaction, which hinders vegetable growth. Therefore, it's important to use ammonium sulfate sparingly in such conditions.

5. Ammonium bicarbonate is not suitable for dry vegetable fields due to its high volatility. During droughts, it tends to evaporate quickly, causing significant losses. When applying ammonium bicarbonate, always do so in moist soil and cover it immediately after application to reduce evaporation and improve absorption.

6. Overuse of phosphate fertilizer in vegetable fields can be harmful. Applying more than 40 kilograms per mu over a long period can negatively affect plant growth, cause premature aging, and reduce yield and quality. A moderate amount of 15–20 kilograms per mu is generally sufficient and safer for long-term use.

7. Human excrement should not be directly applied to green leafy vegetables, especially if it comes from hospitals, train stations, docks, or public restrooms. These sources often contain harmful bacteria and parasites. Using untreated manure can contaminate the vegetables and even spread diseases. It’s essential to treat the manure first through methods like composting, biogas fermentation, or chemical treatment before applying it to the soil.

8. Livestock and poultry manure should be properly aged before use. The feed often includes crop residues and weeds, which can introduce weed seeds into the manure. These seeds can germinate in the field and harm the vegetables. To eliminate this risk, the manure should be stacked at high temperatures for about two months or treated with biological starters for 10 days to fully decompose and kill any harmful organisms.

High quality instant coffee raw material

In 1892, French missionary father Tian Daneng preached in Dali, Yunnan Province, China. In order to drink coffee, he taught local villagers to grow and drink coffee. Up to now, coffee has been planted in Yunnan Province of China for more than 100 years, with an area of 120000 mu. Most of the varieties planted in Yunnan are ccatimor, with an altitude of 1000-1500m, The coffee produced in Yunnan has a balanced taste, rich nut and citrus flavor, some of which are very sweet, with obvious taste of chocolate, toffee and maple sugar. It is one of the high-quality coffee producing areas. Our coffee is produced at the junction of Puer and Burma - the Myitkyina original jungle beans at 1500-1750, with a rich flavor, high aroma and high sweetness. The 2019 international coffee cup Masters Tournament (China finals) is sponsored by beans.
