How to do with rich bamboo tip coke

Cognac disease, also known as bamboo leaf tip blight, has been observed on the tips of rich bamboo leaves. This fungal infection primarily affects the middle and lower leaves of the plant. When the disease occurs, the lesions start from the leaf tip and gradually spread inward. The affected area turns a pale yellow color and becomes sunken. A distinct brown border forms at the edge between the infected and healthy parts of the leaf. In the later stages, small black spots—known as conidiomata—may appear on the lesions. Infected leaves often die, though in some cases only the tips become necrotic while the rest of the leaf remains intact. The pathogen can survive on infected leaves or on fallen diseased foliage, and heavy rainfall significantly increases the risk of disease spread. To manage this condition, it is important to promptly remove and destroy any infected leaves. During the early stages of the disease, spraying with a 1:1:100 Bordeaux mixture is effective. Alternatively, a 53.8% wettable powder formulation can be applied at a dilution of 1,000 times, or 10% water-dispersible granules can be used at a 3,000-times dilution. For small-scale infestations at home, after cutting off the dead portions of the leaves, applying a solution of dacthal ointment on both sides of the cut area can help prevent further lesion expansion or recurrence. Proper sanitation, such as clearing fallen leaves and maintaining good air circulation around the plants, is also crucial in reducing the likelihood of future outbreaks. Regular monitoring of the bamboo grove can help detect early signs of infection, allowing for timely intervention and better long-term control of the disease.
