How to reuse bean dregs

How to reuse soybean dregs refers to the byproducts generated during the production of soy-based products like tofu and soy milk. In many regions, these residues are often discarded as waste, creating environmental challenges and putting pressure on waste management systems. However, soybean dregs are actually rich in nutrients, with a crude protein content of approximately 28% and crude fiber around 6%. Dry soybean residue contains about 27.7% crude protein, which is three times higher than that of rice, making it a valuable feed ingredient for pigs, chickens, and ducks. However, it is not suitable for direct feeding. For better results, it's recommended to ferment the dregs using a Goldbeet fermentation agent before using them as animal feed. After fermentation, soybean dregs can be used to feed piglets or adult pigs. For pigs weighing over 15 kg, the inclusion rate can gradually increase to 20%, and for pigs over 60 kg, it can go up to 70%. It’s important to add trace elements simultaneously to ensure optimal growth and avoid any negative impact on the pigs’ development. Fermented soybean dregs are especially beneficial for fattening pigs and lactating sows, as they have good palatability and are usually well-accepted within one or two days. However, it’s advisable to limit the use of fermented soybean dregs in late pregnancy for sows, as excessive fat accumulation may affect litter size. Proper utilization of soybean dregs not only reduces waste but also provides a sustainable and nutritious feed option for livestock. By turning this byproduct into a useful resource, farmers can improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
